Wnen is the right time to change ?

Is there an appropriate  time to initiate change?

When the Company's performance slips  while the market is going up ,quarter after quarter there has

to be  always some basic issue that needs to be fixed or improved  .That kind of  change is not

something easy to achieve just like obese people who struggle to shed weight or thin people  who try

to  gain weight .Organizational change means a well planned and strategised time bound action. This

initiative may involve .The change is always involving attitude change of leaders managers and

employees.

The right time is to evaluate with  change needs assessment . There is a saying " if you cannot see the

atom how can you see the galaxy?

Employee loyalty is good but people in the organization get into comfort zone  sooner or later if left

unchallenged .As  time passes, the process gets  set, and rules are laid out for everyone to follow  and

over time they become norms .

The culture sets in and the vocabulary is "this is the way it is done here."

Soon people and leaders  behave like the frog put  in the beaker of boiling water

Frog starts enjoying the warmth only to die when the water is slowly heated  to boiling point

but when the water is heated suddenly the frog jumps out.

This is the truth when things are left to  time and status quo is maintained .

So do you need the fire to jerk one out of sleep?

The right time is to know how many in your company including the leaders have gone to comfort

zone.If your sales guys are sweating out  to meet the targets change things in the organization just

like you change a shirt when there is too much sweat. When the sales start dipping find out if this is

due to competition taking over.

In a recent experiment, senior executives including the CEO  who were in charge of policies were

asked to list 5 reasons  responsible for the declining sales. There was no common agreement. there

were 25 different things.Imagine the fate of that organization

The moral is simple.Do it before it is too late
